Top 5 quirky East London wedding venues

November 18, 2017

Welcome to Your Story events first ever blog post! For our first post, I wanted to focus on some fun and quirky East London wedding venues. I have chosen five venues, each with a very different style to suit different couples. Of course, there are plenty more stunning venues in East London and beyond, so do get in touch if you need assistance in finding your dream wedding venue. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my wedding venue blog post!

Trinity Bouy Wharf

Situated on the banks of the river Thames, near Canary Wharf, Trinity Bouy Wharf is a former working dock. With a range of buildings including a lighthouse, a container city and an American diner, there is plenty of opportunity for fun and exciting photographs. This venue is licensed for ceremonies and has two unique venues to use, so you can have both ceremony and reception on site. Your wedding party can go on until 1.45am and there is a preferred list of suppliers for you to choose from. This is a spectacular waterside venue, which would suit a couple in search of something a little different in which you party with your guests well into the night.

The Ned

A venue located a little closer to heart of the city in Bank, is The Ned. A beautiful heritage site, formally known as the iconic Midland Bank building. The venue has been designed to maintain the original character of the building, and they have a selection of refined rooms for event spaces that ooze with charm.  This venue does not allow legal ceremonies, but makes a stunning venue for your wedding reception. With capacity for up to 200 guests, and bedrooms onsite, this makes an ideal London wedding venue. The catering is in-house and they can do a late licence for your evening party on request. This stunning venue does not fail to impress.

Loft

The loft is a spacious and bright venue space housed in a Victorian warehouse in vibrant Shoreditch. It has a shabby-chic style with exposed brickwork and floor boards, and an eclectic mix of furnishings. This venue has capacity for up to 150 guests, but they are not licenced for marriage. There is a list of preferred catering suppliers to choose from and your evening celebrations are licensed until 11.30pm. This venue is a fantastic blank canvas space that you can create your wedding the way you always pictured.

Wilton’s Music Hall

Wilton’s is a Grade II* listed Victorian theatre in Wapping that still works as a fully functioning theatre and music hall. It is a venue filled with historical charm and character. At Wilton’s you can have your ceremony and wedding reception in a vintage-style auditorium, with your drinks reception in a speakeasy-themed cocktail bar. Capacity is for 120 guests and it is licensed until 11.30pm; they have a list of preferred catering suppliers to choose from. Due to the shows they have throughout the year there are limited dates available for weddings, making this a very exclusive venue. Perfect for couples that are lovers of vintage and retro.

Tanner Warehouse

Tanner Warehouse was voted the ‘Best Wedding Venue’ at the London Venue Awards 2016. Located further south than the other venues, this fantastic space is in Bermondsey. It is described as: ‘old world charm, meets contemporary London’, and it is just that – as well as so much character mixed with its stylish décor. The venue has the capacity for up to 150 guests to party until 2am. It also has a great outdoor courtyard to use, which is a real plus in London. Catering and bar is all in-house and the venue do a per head package cost. This is a fun, quirky venue in a great location for you and guests to celebrate in to the early hours. This recent award-winning venue perfectly wraps up this blog post on quirky East London Venues.
