As we already know the Pantone Colour of the year is Ultra Violet, so this will certainly feature quite heavily. Bright and bold colours will make their way into wedding designs this year, in particular gorgeous jewel tones such a ruby, sapphire and emerald. Rose gold has been huge in 2017 and metallics are still going strong with copper and silver. Black is also making a comeback this year, paired with white for a sophisticated and contemporary wedding style.

Style and Décor
With bold colours trending for 2018 weddings, this gives couples the opportunity to move away from soft, romantic and vintage weddings to a more bold and luxurious style of wedding. Velvet is making its way into fashion and wedding design, which works beautiful with the bolder jewel tone colours we will be seeing. Velvet is great for accents of furniture adding texture to your special day and we will see beautiful cutlery in copper and contemporary black. Velvets and cotemporary cutlery styled with exposed dark wood tables creates this rustic-luxe style that will feature heavily throughout 2018.

This year flowers are going bigger and bolder. 2017 saw lots of hanging foliage installations and this year hanging installations are still going strong, but will feature even more flowers bringing the outside in. Organic and natural overflowing centrepieces with lots of green will continue to be popular, but with brighter and bolder hues. 2018 will also see tropical and bright botanical style of floristry.

Food and Beverage
Food and drinks are leaning towards the more informal and fun way of dining with sharing and family style starters and mains. These are to be followed by dessert stations with a variety of sweet treat options for guests to graze. Interactive stations are also set to be big in 2018 with many caterers doing nitrogen ice cream stands adding the wow factor to your wedding. The popularity of gin has gone up over the last few years with lots of new types of gin on the market, therefore the wedding gin bar is going to continue in 2018, but now with a focus on special infused spirits and gins.

Marquee weddings will continue to be popular moving to the clear marquee style situated in beautiful surroundings of a country estate. Or venues like glasshouses or greenhouses such as Syon Park or Kew gardens, a knock on effect from Pippa Middleton’s big glass marquee structure last year. Industrial style weddings are still trending, but with a luxe twist, using elegant and luxurious styling details.
